Is History a History of Progress?

Picture
U.S. history is a history of progress.
This essential question is very interesting and has many different answers. My answer would be that history is no doubt a history of progress. For hundreds of years we, as a country, have been reforming, changing, and perfecting countless categories of social, economic, and political aspects of our country. All of these changes and efforts we have made to make this country better and better has made its history richer, and a history of progress.

Of course with progress comes more problems. Every solution or change creates other problems and oppurtunities for mistakes. But the majority of the sacrifices and progresses we have achieved has served for the greater good, maybe causing other problems, but nonetheless depleting the problems that were present and much more devestating than the ones the solutions and reforms made.

Changes that have made our country's history a history of progress all have to do with our society, politics, and economy. We have made our society safer, and as controlled as we can. Our country's politics and voting system is fair, and the majority of the politicians want whats best for the greater good of our country, and are only doing what they feel would aid our country. Economically we have been up and down for years. Sure we are in a slump now but look at the Great Depression, aren't you glad its not like that anymore?

Today the evidence is all around you why history is a history of progress. We have advanced in every aspect imaginable; technologically, intellectually, and as a human race. By looking at this project/website, you will realize and witness how history is a history of progress through the example of the U.S. History 2 Acc. Curriculum and how each unit exemplifies progression as they move forward into the future.
